A rose by any other name would smell as sweet – #100BY27
While overseeing startups and small businesses in Texas, Godswill Nwankwo witnessed firsthand how access to capital along with strategic financial and management advisory transformed these organizations into strong profitable tax paying enterprises that provided better paying job opportunities than the government.
Over 5 years ago, Godswill has been working to setup up Biafra Bank, an Igbo-centric global bank with branches in United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia, with headquarters in Umuahia, Abia State. The bank will provide access to capital for businesses, especially those in Abia State and southeastern Nigeria. Access to capital shall be based on the merit and commercial viability of the business. No collateral nor nepotism needed.
The bank will also provide free world class financial and management advisory to these businesses so that they can compete in a global marketplace.
The bank will work to elevate the operations of these businesses to the global value chains by plugging them into the proprietary Global Business Network (GBN)
Godswill’s effort to establish Biafra Bank riled up all sorts of emotions and sentiments from several persons and groups of persons. The formation of Biafra Bank was also met with extraneous legislative bottlenecks in Nigeria.
Since ‘a rose by any other name would smell as sweet‘, Kedu Bank was birthed with strict mandate to aggressively pursue and take ownership of all the functions previously assigned to Biafra Bank. This dream must live on.
Since Godswill believes every business with growth potentials should have access to capital, network and advisory, his passion for bringing value to southeastern Nigeria is driving him to take his fight to finally establishing Kedu Bank to the Senate in Abuja to make this project a reality for his constituents and entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
As a candidate for the Nigeria Senate representing Abia South Senatorial District, Godswill Nwankwo will work with federal and state leadership to ensure that Kedu Bank is quickly established immediately after the general election of 2023.
The eventual target is for Kedu Bank to help advance businesses to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and eventually listed in the world’s largest stock exchange, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). This objective will be championed by the investment banking division of Kedu Bank.
With USD 123 Billion of daily volume traded in the NYSE, only seven (7) African companies are currently listed in this select club of global elite enterprises, Kedu Bank will aim to drive 100 companies from southeastern Nigeria to be listed by 2027. This mission is hash-tagged #100By27.
Some of the areas of investment in Abia State and southeastern Nigeria that are currently being developed with both foreign and domestic partners includes:
- Five (5) oil and gas exploration and producing companies with significant clean energy portfolios
- Three (3) crude oil refineries with 700,000 barrels of oil per day nameplate processing capacity
- Two (2) natural gas processing plants with 10 million tons per year production
- Two (2) Electric car assembly plants
- Four (4) meat packing plants that will handle the slaughtering, processing, packaging, and distribution of meat from animals such as cattle, pigs, sheep, and other livestock
- Two (2) biomedical companies for developing tropical drug and treatment discovery, and be positioned as partners in fighting the next global pandemic
- Three (3) real estate companies with focus on energy efficient (solar powered) multi-family homes
- Five (5) EduTech companies
- Three (3) internet broadband providers and ICT companies
These efforts will quickly guarantee foreign direct investments and resources inflows to the communities and hence establish Abia State and southeastern Nigeria as the commercial capital of the African continent.
We must all join efforts in the 2023 Nigeria election to send Godswill Nwankwo to the Senate so that he can fight to make this a reality.
Regards,
Kedu Bank
